ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2000 -01 BUDGET FOR THE
HOTEL /MOTEL TAX FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $85,650 FOR
EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2001 SUMMER TRAINING CAMP
FOR THE DALLAS COWBOYS; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT
THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City has received a request for Hotel /Motel funds in the amount
of $85,650 from Midwestern State University for expenses associated with the 2001
summer training camp of the Dallas Cowboys; and
WHEREAS, funds that were budgeted in the 2000 -01 budget for debt service for
the coliseum project will not be required during the 2000 -01 fiscal year due to delay in
the bond issue as a result of a petition process on the coliseum project; and
WHEREAS, Hotel /Motel Occupancy Tax Funds are to be used only for activities
that generate tourism; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that these expenditures are related to the
promotion of tourism in the city, and
WHEREAS, the Convention and Visitor's Bureau will serve as the administrative
agency to review costs submitted by Midwestern State University.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The 2000 -01 budget is hereby amended in the amount of $85,650
by transferring funds that were originally budgeted for debt service on the coliseum
project to an account to be used for costs associated with the 2001 Summer Training
Camp of the Dallas Cowboys.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
