ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22 -4 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO PERMIT THE POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION
OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES DURING AN EVENT SPONSORED BY
THE CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU, TO BE HELD AROUND
THE FENCED AREA OF THE LOG CABIN IN LUCY PARK ON AUGUST
15, 2001; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Convention and Visitors Bureau has requested alcoholic
beverages be served to convention visitors during their event to be held around the
fenced area of the Log Cabin in Lucy Park on August 15, 2001; and
WHEREAS, it is felt the event will be more successful if alcoholic beverages are
served; and
WHEREAS, the circumstances surrounding this request are considered
exceptional.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 22 -4 of the Code of Ordinances, prohibiting the possession
and consumption of alcoholic beverages in parks, is hereby waived to permit alcoholic
beverages during an event sponsored by the Convention and Visitors Bureau on
August 15, 2001, to be held around the fenced area of the Log Cabin in Lucy Park.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
