ORDINANCE PLACING A MORATORIUM ON THE INSTALLATION,
APPLICATION OR PERMIT PROCESS RELATED TO EIGHT LINER
ARCADES AND OTHER ARCADE MACHINES THAT DISPENSE
REDEEMABLE TICKETS, CERTIFICATES OR COUPONS; FINDING
AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission is considering and
deliberating regulations related to eight -liner arcade machines, and other type of arcade
machine that dispenses tickets, certificates, coupons or similar such redeemable item;
and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City
Council to protect public health, safety, morals and general welfare; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that this moratorium is necessary to
secure the purposes herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. During this declared moratorium period, no application for a
Conditional Use Permit shall be accepted or considered where such is required under
Section 5905 of Appendix C, Zoning Ordinance.
SECTION 2. This moratorium shall be in effect for a period of six months, or
until such time that the City Council adopts additional regulations related to eight -liner
arcade machines, and other type of arcade machines that dispense tickets, certificates,
coupons or similar such redeemable item, whichever comes first.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this Ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
