AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, WAIVING SECTION 82 -63 OF THE WICHITA FALLS
CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW FOR THE POSTING OF SIGNS IN
LUCY PARK FOR AN EVENT SPONSORED BY THE MULTIPLE
SCLEROSIS SOCIETY ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2001; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the local chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has
requested permission to post signs in Lucy Park for their walking fundraising event on
Saturday, September 8, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the Park Board has approved this request; and
WHEREAS, Section 82 -63 of the Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances grants the
City Council the power to allow for the erection of temporary signs in city parks; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined it is in the best interests of this
event and the City to allow for the posting of signs to advertise this fundraiser.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 82 -63 of the Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances is hereby
waived to allow for the posting of signs in Lucy Park on September 8, 2001, for a
walking fundraising event sponsored by the local chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis
Society.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
