AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE FISCAL YEAR OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXASs TO BEGIN WITH THE FIRST DAY OF OCTOBER OF EACH YEAR 1'�RD TO MD 7�TITH THE 30TH DAY OF SEPTM1,1BER OF THE FOLLO77ING YF2�_R. Whereas, Article 68 of the Charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, provides among other things, "that ; until otherwise provided by Ordinance, the fiscal year of the City shall begin on the lst day of April of each year and shall end on the 31st day of March of the following year, " and the Board of Aldermen find it to be adviseable and to the best interest of the City and its citizens to change the fiscal year so as to have it begin on October 1 or eacn year and to end With the 30th day of September of the rollowing. year, thereby making the fiscal year begin with the same aate on which the tax rolls are to be comple- tea and approved each year. Now, therefore: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDEMIFEN OF THE CITY OF �'vICHITA FALLSt TEXAS: That the fiscal year of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, shall hereafter begin with the lst day of October of each year and shall end ,with the 30th day of September of the following year. The fact that Section 67 of the Charter of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, provides among other things, that not later than one month before the end of each fiscal year, the City Manager shall prepare and submit to the Board ol Aldermen a buaget estimate of the expenditures and reven- ues or all city departments, divisions and offices for the ensuing year and the further fact that it is to the interest or the citizens and tax payers of Wichita Falls, Texas, to nave the fiscal year of said city changed as hereinabove pro- viaea creates an emergency and the rule requiring the reading or Ordinances on three several days is iereb,' suspended and this Ordinance shall take effect�, be-in force.. from and after its passage and approval.
