ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, MAKING APPROPRIATION FOR ADDITIONAL GRANT
REVENUE RECEIVED FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AGENCY /UNITED STATES FIRE ADMINISTRATION
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTER GRANTS PROGRAM FOR THE
PURCHASE OF FIREFIGHTER TURNOUT CLOTHING; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUIBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, The City of Wichita Falls has received approval for additional grant
revenue from the Federal Emergency Management Agency /Assistance to Firefighter
Grants Program for the purchase of firefighter turnout clothing; and
WHEREAS, the grant award is seventy (70 %) percent of the total cost of the
project and requires the City of Wichita Falls to appropriate the remaining thirty (30 %)
percent; and
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council has approved by proclamation the
appropriation of the thirty (30 %) percent share pending the grant award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated $47,520, of which $33,264 will be
awarded from the Federal Emergency Management Agency /Assistance to Firefighter
Grants Program, and $14,256 will be from General Fund Reserves for the purchase of
firefighter turnout clothing.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
