ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE SPECIAL
REVENUE FUND FOR ADDITIONAL GRANT FUNDING RECEIVED
FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT ACCEPTING THE
SAME; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH
THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Health District has been offered additional revenue from the
Texas Department of Health for hepatitis C testing; and
WHEREAS, Hepatitis C represents a significant health risk to the citizens in our
community; and
WHEREAS, the Health District and the Texas Department of Health desire to
enter into a contract for Hepatitis C testing; and
WHEREAS, the approval of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to
adoption of the 2001 -2002 Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated in the Special Revenue Fund $3,500
for the Hepatitis C testing program, and the City Manager is authorized to enter into a
contract with the Texas Department of Health for the Wichita Falls- Wichita County
Public Health District.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
