ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE SPECIAL
REVENUE FUND FOR FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE
TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE FUND BOARD TO
ENHANCE INTERNET ACCESS AND COMPUTER RELATED
SERVICES AT THE LIBRARY, AND AUTHORIZING MATCHING FUNDS
RELATED THERETO; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, on July 17, 2001 the City Council approved a resolution authorizing
the Library to apply to the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board for grant
funds to upgrade the computer capabilities at the Library; and
WHEREAS, the City has received notice that a grant in the amount of $88,600
has been approved; and
WHEREAS, the grant requires that $12,720 of local matching funds be
expended for this program, of which, $6,720 is already budgeted for computer projects
currently underway at the Library, leaving a balance of $6,000 of additional local
matching funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated in the Special Revenue Fund
$88,600 of funds received from the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board for
computer enhancements at the Library.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated in the General Fund $6,000 as the
City's unbudgeted matching requirement for this grant program.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
