ORDINANCE REZONING 506, 508 & 510 VIRGINIA STREET, ALSO
BEING LOTS 11, 12 & 13, BLOCK 32, AND THAT PORTION OF ALLEY
LYING BETWEEN LOTS 12 & 13, BARWISE & JALONICK ADDITION,
FROM SINGLE - FAMILY -2 TO GENERAL COMMERCIAL ZONING AND
AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended rezoning 506,
508 & 510 Virginia Street from Single -2 Family Residential to General Commercial
zoning; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems that the
proposed rezoning of the area hereafter described, and amending the Comprehensive
Plan to reflect this change, will be in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls Land Use Plan, an element of the
Comprehensive Plan for the City of Wichita Falls, Texas is hereby amended for 506,
508 & 510 Virginia Street, also being Lots 11, 12 & 13, Block 32, this tract includes that
portion of alley lying between lots 12 & 13, Barwise & Jalonick Addition, as shown on
the attached map, incorporated in this ordinance as Attachment "A." Said property
designations for these properties shall be changed to Commercial.
SECTION 2. The property described in Section 1 of this ordinance and as
shown on the attached map, incorporated in this ordinance as Attachment "A," is
hereby rezoned from Single Family -2 to General Commercial.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
