ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE GENERAL
FUND AND WATER AND SEWER FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,000
EACH FOR A SECOND ASSESSMENT FEE FOR THE CITIES
AGGREGATION POWER PROJECT, INCORPORATED; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is a member of the Cities Aggregation
Power Project, Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, this non - profit corporation was formed to give political subdivisions
of the State of Texas an opportunity to aggregate their electric load to achieve volume
savings in the purchase of electricity in the deregulated electric market; and
WHEREAS, the consulting fees needed to assist CAPP with the process for
purchasing electricity in the deregulated market were higher than originally anticipated;
and
WHEREAS, CAPP is requesting a second assessment in the amount of Y2 of 1%
of the total electric bills for the year 2000, with a maximum second assessment of
$14,000 in order to pay consulting fees associated with this consolidation process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated in the 2001 -02 budget, $7,000 in the
Water and Sewer Fund and $7,000 in the General Fund for a second assessment to be
a member of the Cities Aggregation Power Project, Incorporated.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
