Ord 1278 11/7/1938 ORDINANCE NO. 1278
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PARAGRAPH A OF SECTION
FOUR OF ORDINANCE NO. 568 REGULATING INSTALLATION OF
GASOLINE TANKS PERMITTING THE INSTALLATION OF TANKS TO
BE SET ON NOT LESS THAN SIX INCHES OF SAND OR ON SIX
INCHES OF CONCRETE.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
ALDERMEN OF fii -CITY OF'WICHITA. YALLS. TEXAS:
SECTION 1
PARA-GRAPH 1. All tanks shall be installed
underground outside of the buildin,,,and not less than
three feet below the surface entire surrounded by
earth well tamped in place, bottom of tank to set
on noi less than six inches of sand or six inches of
concrete, and the top of the tank must be below the
level of the lowest pipe line in the building used in
connection wiii the equipment. All underground tnks
must beer the Underwriters Laboratories,, Inc. label.
No cinders or sulphur water shall be permitted around
or near any tank or fittings.
