TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Section 3 of Ordinance #1317,, passed and approved Liarch
3, 1941., requiring the rendition of properties upon which homestead
excmption is requested, and requiring the rendition and payment of all
personal property,, be., and the same is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2.
That Section 4 of Ordinance #1317., passed and -approved March
3, A. D., 1941, be, and the same is hereby amended so as to hereafter
read as follows:
No homestead exemption shall be granted to any person or per-
sons unless and until the person or persons clairLing the same shall have
rendered all personal property owned by said person or persons subject
to taxation under the Constitution and 6tatutes of the State of Texas.,
and paid all taxes thereon for the year or years for which said exemption
is claimed, and all prior years.
SECTI2U.
The fact that rAany tax payers are claiming homestead exemption.,
who did not render the property claimed as a homestead as provided by
Section 3 of Ordinance ff"11317, passed and approved on th"e 3rd day of 14arch,
A. D., 1941, and such property was placed on the unrendered rolls, and
the fact thatmany such tax payers are requesting homestead exemption., not-
withstaiiding their failure to comply with Section 3 of Ordinance #1317.,
and the further fact that the taxes on said property will soon become de-
linquent, creates an emergency, and requires the suspension of the rule
requiring the reading, of ordinances on three several days, and such rule
is hereby suspended, and this ordinance shall take effect after its pass-
age and approval.
