S3XLIO1,_ 1. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person to wade, bathe,, or
swim in Lake _';ic'iita or in the canal from Lake iichita to the filter plant be-
longing to the City of '4�ichiita Falls.
6ECTIO111: 2. It shall hereafter be unla-wful for any person to fish., boat,, or
picnic within 1,320 feet of the Outlet from, Lake -I.Fichita to the canal leading
from Lahe 7 i-,-ichi-Lua to the water plant of the Cit- of 'i'�ichita Falls) Texas.
Persons fishing at other laces in the lake shal"L not use liver, chicken

entrails, stink bait,, etc... but shall only use live or artificial bait that will
not conta�.-inate the waters of the lake. Fo person shall fish in -the canal at
any point.

SECTION 3. Ydl persons owning or raaj_ntainin�,-, dwellinZs or habitations i,�rithin
200 feet of Lake ''�'ichita' at spillway level, or within 200 feet of the canal shall
have and maintain approved sewerage
disposal plants and approved garba---e disposal
facilities in accordance with the State Health Department standards, of the State
of Texas. No person shall store or place garba,,e cans, garba�--e
on the canal right of way at any point. 1;1 , , or other refuse
SECTION 4. No person shall camp vjithin 200 feet of theed'g-e of lake 11,Vichita
at spillway level or within 200 feet of the canal.
SECTIOE', 5. No person shall erect, own, or irtaintain any pens, lots, or enclosures
for holdinL, or keepinL, livestock within 50 feet of the canal or wherever the drain—
age from such lots may enter the canal.
SECTION 6. The owner of all dead livestock shall remove same from the lake,
the water shed thereof, and from the canal right of way, or cause same to be burned
within 48 hours after death and shall not in any event allow such dead animals
to cont,--uhinate -the -waters of Lake -,'.ichita.
6ZCTIO'Ll' 7. The owners or operators of all fishing piers on Lake -t-�`ichita shall
provide for the use of hunters and fishermen approved writer—tiLght containers

to be used by them in disposing of bait., trash, refuse., etc.
SZCTIOI�'.', 8. No person shall remove or o'Qen any fences or embankifluents,, or obstruct

SL40TION' 9. The pollution laws and the nuisance laws of the State of Texas
are hereby adopted.
SECTION 10. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance upon con—
viction in the Corporation Court of the City of 71ichita Falls, Texas shall be
fined in any sum. not to exceed $200.00.
SBCTION 11. Should any person persist in violating this ordinance and by
his acts contaminate the waters of Lake Wichita, or the canal, or the water
plant and works of the Cit-,T of Iffichita Falls, Texas, then upon instruct-ions
from the Board of Aldermen the Citv Attorney shall institute suit in the
proper court in 71ichita Count,,, in the name of the city to enjoin such acts
and such pollution.
SzCTION 12. Shculd any part of this ordinance be held to be invalid or void
then the other parts hereof shall not be affected thereby but same shall
remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 13. The fact that there are now no ordinances protecting Lake Wichita
and the canal and the water plant and works of the City of 77ichita Falls from
pollution and the fact that said waters are now being so polluted creates an
emergenclT
and the rule requirin'q the readin�- of ordinances on three several
days is hereby suspended, and this ordinance shall. take effect immediately upon
its passage and approval and publication as provided in the Charter of the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas.
