T��AS:
6ECTION I.
That section 4-702 (427) of the codification of ordinance of the City
Of Wichita Falls, Texas, 1941 adopted by ordinance No. 1315., passed
and approved on January 6. 1941, Be and the same is hereby amended so
as to hereafter read as follows; to-yat;
Section 4-702; (427) License Required. It shall be unlawful to hold any
public dance or public ball to hold classes of dancin,' within the limits
of the City of i1ichita Falls, Texas, until a license as hereinafter
grovided shall have been granted for holdil�,c," said public dances or
all or dancing lessons ih the dance hall in which the same may be
held. The application for such license shall be made in Writing by

if he desires, shall have the assistance of the Police Department
Health Department and the Chief of the Fire Department. The said
Chief of Police shall -he next regular meeting of the Board of
Aldermen , at t

the event the Ghief of Police refuses or neglects to present his
written recommendation at the next meeting of the Board of Aldermen
as heretofore provided, then the Board of �&dderpien shall act on said
application and issue such license if they deem same advisable. The
Board of Aldeinnen alone shall have the power to issue said licenses,
NO license shall be granted herein or be renevied except after in-
spection of the premises as provided herein. lAch license granted
herein shall expire the first day of Janunry of each year., and the
license shall be poste4 in a conspicuous p"lace within which the dance
is held.

The annual license fee for the operation of dance halls shall be as
follows:

In arriving at the license fee as above set out the 4easurements of
the entire portion of any room or buildino rented by the applicant
shall be included in arriving at the numbe�r of square feet in said
dance hall, and no license shall be issued to any applicant for any
room or building, where any other business is being operated without in-
cluding, such portion of said room or buildia� in the measurements of such
room or building in determining the amount of square feet therein and
to be used in fixincr the license fee to be paid by the applicant.
6ZiCTION II.
That section 4-707 (427) of the codification of ordinance of the City
of -'-Uchita Falls3 Texas, 19410 adopted by ordinance No. 1.315, passed
and approved on January 6., 1941. Be and the same is hereby amended
so as to hereafterread as follows; to-lvit;
Section 4-707 (427) All public dances shall be discontinued and all
public dance halls shall be closed on or before the hour of twelve
otclocK-' P.L".
8ECTION' III.
The fact that a great amount of work is required by the various de-
partment heads of the City of �-iichita Falls in making investigation
and recommendations on all applications filed for license to operate
dance halls within the City of dichita Falls and the further fact
that the operation of dance halls requires a great amount of polic z
by said city and the fact that the fee now charged - in-
is greatly inade-
quate to pky the actual cost of investLration, recommendations and
policin- of said dance halls
creates an emergency and this ordinance
shall become effective from and after its passage and approval as
provided by law.
