SJXTION 1
There is hereby levied against each and every person, trusteep firm.,
association and corporation engaged in,- the business of transporting passen-
gers for hire over undesignated routes within the corporate limits of the City
of Wichita Falls a rental charge of two per cent of the ggross income received
from such business; such charge being made for the use of the- streets., alloys
and public ways of said city by such personso trustees, -f* associations
and corporations engaged in the transportation business. lrms�'
SECTION 2.
Any and all such personso trustees, firms, associations and corporations
so engaged in such business in the City shall make quarterly reports between
the lst and 10th days of the months of Januaryo April, July and October of each
year, sworn to by such personsj trustees or a member of such firms or associa-
tions or by the President, Secretary ot Treasurer of such corporation - howino
the gross amount of money received from its business of carx7ing passj' s
for hire ivithin the corporate limits of the City of 'Viichita Falls engers

the quarter year next preceeding. Such person

preceeding quarter and the quarter year ending on the lst day of the month in
which said report is made and filed.
SECTION 3.
dhen such person,, trustees firm., association or corporation pays the
rental provided for and levied under Sections 1 and 2 hereof, the City Clerk shall
deliver to such person, trustee., firm,, association

ing on business for-three months from the ist day of the month in which the receipt
is issued and given.
SECTION 4.
Such Person., trustee, firm, association or corporation shall keep in the City
of ifichita Falls a set of books showing the gross receipts received in its busi-
ness. The Layor, Board of Alderman or duly designated representatives of them or
either of them, shall have the right at all reasonable hours to examine such books
and all other records to ascertain -whether or not the re rts reQuired under
Section 2 hereof are true and accurate PO
., but nothing herein shall'be construed to
prevent the City from ascertaining the facts by any other method.
SBCTION 5.
The rental for the privilege of using the streets
alleys and public ways
of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, levied herein is not charged as a tax, but
is levied for t�e privilege heretofore and now enjoyed and to be enjoyed by such
persons, trustees, firms, associations and corporations using the streets$ alleys
and public ways of the City in the conduct of such business. The rental charge
is in addition to all other charges and to all taxes of every nature whatsoever
that are now levied and which will be hereafter levied against such persons,
trustee., finji, associations and corporations mentioned herein.
SECTION 6.
Nothing herein is to relieve an,
. y.person trustee fir�a, association, and
corporation of.-W conditions, restrictions or'requiremepnts ikposed by any law
or Ordinance of the City of Wichita FaUs., Texas, but-all such laws, ordinames
and reguIaticns shall remain in full force and effectl unless same is in direct
conflict i%dth the provisions hereof. The failure of any such, person., trustee
firm, association and corporation to strictly comply -with such laws and orcLinances,
which may hereafter be passed applicable to them, shall be ground for cancellation
of the privilege6 granted hereunder.
SECTION 7.
Every person., trustee., firm, association or corporation whc. ,shaU operate a
transportation business on undesignated routes within the corporate limits of the

and every day that such person., trustee., firm, association or corporation ,
shall conduct such transportation business, using and occupying the streets,,
alleys and other public ways of the City of jELchita Falls, Texasp and such sum
may be recovered by the city in a court of.competent jurisdiction by suit therein,

Blvery person, trustee, firm., association and corporation and the local
manger or agent of any such corporation failing or refusing to make a.report
required by Section 2 hereof or failing or refusing to all6w the examination
�rovided for in Section I+ herein shall upon conviction in the Co oration

SECTION 9.
if any Eart of this ordinance shal.1 be held or b�,- void or unenforceable for
any reason, t an the other parts, hereof shall remain in full force and effect.
