SEC 1210 N 1.
That the first paragraph of Section 1 of Ordinance
No. 1350, passed and approved by the Board of Aldermen on
September 81, 19-142, entitled "An Ordinance fixing fares to
be charged for transporting passengers within the city of
uvicl-ita Falls, Texas, by persons, trustees, firms, associa-
tions and corporations engaged in the business of transport-
ing passengers for hire on and over designated routes within
said city and its suburbs and who use the streets, alleys
and public ways of the city for such purpose, prescribing
a penalty and declaring an emergency; " be and the same is
hereby amended so as to hereafter read as follows, to-+V't •
"SECTION 1; Each and every person, trustee, firm,
association and corporation engaged in the business of trans-
porting passengers for }tire over designated routes in the
City of Uwiclaita Falls, Texas, and its suburbs is hereby auth-
orized to charge not more than a cash fare of ten ( 10 ) cents
per adult person for transporting or carrying such passengers
on its motor ruses, provided that four ( 4) tickets or tokens
shall be sold. for t;venty--five ( 25S ) cents to all adult per-
sons who shall apply for same, w1n.ich tickets or tokens s.'iall
be good for one ( 1) passenger upon all bus lines within the
city, except those lines which serve Sheppard Field and Kell
Field within said city; and provided further that twelve ( 12)
tickets or tokens shall be sold for One Dollar to all
adult passengers who shall appl for same, which tickets or
tokens shall be good for one ( l passenger on the Kell FField
and Sheppard Field buses ; such tickets or tokens shall be kept
for sale by all motormen, bus drivers and conductors of said
buses and at such other places in the City of Wichita Balls
as may be designated by such persons, trustees, firms, as-
sociations and corporations. "
SL'C TION 2.
The ff;ct that the fare for buses serving
Sheppard i'ield and Kell Field are now prescribed by Ordi-
nance so as to require that four ( 4) tokens or tickets be
sold for twenty-five ( 25/) cents which shall be good on
said buses, and that such rate of fare is inadequate and
not sufficient to yield a reasonable return upon the capital
invested in the buses serving Sheppard :Field and Kell Field,
and because it is necessary that service to said Fields be
continued without interruption creates an emergency, and the
rule requiring the reading of Ordinances on three several
days is hereby suspended and this Ordinance shall take effect
from and after its passage and approval.
