That Section 2-402 (1249) of the codification of ordinances of the Uity of Wichita Falls, Texas 1941, adopted by Ordinance No. 1315, passed and approved on January 6, 1941. Be and the sale is hereby amended so as to hereafter read as fol _ows, to-wit: S TI�i1 2. That parts of the streets in the Uity of dchita Falls, Texas described in Ordinance No. 131S, passed and approved April 7, A. D. 1941, creating and establishing parking meter zones; and in such zones and in other parkinnc meter zones as may hereafter be created by ordinances of the City of "alichita Falls., 'exas, and in order to avoid traffic congestion and to regulate traffic and the parkin" of vehicles in said parking zones, the City is hereby authorized to have installed parking meters, and is authorized to cause parking meter spaces to be designated and identified in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. That in said parking meter zones above established and created and in such other par.'tintq, meter zones as may be hereafter created by ordinance of the City of dichita Falls, said City shall cause to be installed parking meters and shad cause parking meter spaces to be designated and identified, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. Said parking meters are to be paid for exclusively from the receipts from said meters. The City of jdichita Fails is in no way obligated to pay the purchase price of said meters out of any funds, moneys or revenues of the City of 4ichita Falls, except from the receipts received by said City from the operationsof said meters as herein provided. The funds here authorized to be paid as the purchase price of said meters shall never be considered in determining the constitutional statutory or other legal limitations imposed upon the city with respect to its power to create debts. That when parking meter spaces are indicated by painted lines upon the surface of the streets in the parking ":peter zones as created by Ordinance No. 1318, pa:::sed and approved April 7, A. D. 1941, and when parking meters are installed adjacent to, or adjoining said respective parking spaces, no vehicle shall remain parked within any of said spaces within the zone or upon any portion of said streets in said zone described it said Ordinance No. 1318 for a longer continuous period than two hours at any time between the hours of o'clock A.". and 6:00 o'clock P. -3 with the following exceptions: Th t no vehicle shall remain pared between the hours of o'clock A. 1,. and 6:00 o'clock P. L. for a longer continuous period than/thirty minutes on Ei7ht Street from Lamar Avenue to Indiana Avenue, and no vehicle shall remain parked between the hours of �, o'clock A. K. to 6:00 P. !". for a longer continuous period than one ho on the following streets, to-wit: Eight Street, from Indiana Yvenue to Ohio avenue; Plinth Street, from Lamar avenue to Ohio Avenue; Indiana :venue, from Seventh Street to Tenth Street; Scott .venue, from Seventh Street to Tenth Street; on any day except Sundays avnd holidays officially designated by the Board of Alderman of the City of Jichita Falls, Texas. The fact that a great many automobiles are double parking on Light Street to transact business with the banks and hotels due to the shortage of parking space on account of two hour parking allowed on said street, causes a traffic hazard and endangers life and property which creates an emergency, and this ordinanc shall take effect won and after its passage and publication and it i_s so ordered. day of A.
