BE -IT CRDAIN�D BY THE BQTli'D OF ALDERI:FEI+ OF THE CITY OF 71ICHI7FA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1398 passed and approved on -April 9, A. D. �945, be, and the same is hereby, amended so as to hereafter read as follows, to-wit: SECTION 2. That parts of the streets in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, described in Ordinance No. 1318, passed and approved April 7, A. D. 1941, creating and establishing parking meter zones and in such zones and in other parking meter zcnes as may hereafter be created bar ordinance of the City of 'dichita Falls, Texas, and in order to avoid traffic and the parkin? of Vehicles in said parking zones, the CitLr is hereb;- authorized to have installed parking meters, and is authorized to cause pyrkin7 meter spaces to be designated and identified in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. That in said p:-.rking meter zones above established and cr sated and in such other parkin^ meter zones as may be hereafter created by ordinances of the City of 'dichita Falb, said City. sh-,, cause to be installed parking r,.eters and shall cause parkin; meter spaces to be designated and identified, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance. Said parkin- meters are to ':e paid for exclusively from the receipts from said meters. The Citr of ulichita Falls is in no waLr obligated to pay the purchase Write of said meters out of any funds rior_ey s or revenues of the City of "Wichita Fails, except from the receipts re- ceived by said City from the operations of said meters as herein pro- vided. The funds here authorized to be paid as the purchase price of said meters shall never be consicered in determining the constitu- tional statutory or other leQa1 limitations imposed upon the city with respect to its power to create debts. That when parking meter spaces are indicated by painted lines upon the surface of the streets in the parking meter zones as created by Ordinance No. 1318, passed and approved Anr,1 7, A. Avenue to Ohio Avenue; LighthStreet, from Lamar l"'venue to Travis Street; Lamar Avenue, from Seventh Street to Eighth Street; i'inth Street, from Tamar Avenue to Ohio Avenue; Indiana Avenue, from Seventh Street to Tenth 6treet; Scott Avenue, from Seventh Street to Tenth Street; on any dar except Sundays and holidays officially designated by the Poard of Aldermen of the City of ,Yichita Falls, Texas. The fact that a great many automobiles are now double parking on Lamar Street between Seventh and Eighth Street and on Ei�hthStreet between Lamar and Travis Street for the pur.- pcse of goin., to and from the bus station and in and out of the Hamilton Building due to the shortage of parking space caused by the two hour panting now allowed on said streets causes a traffic hazard and endangers life and property which creates an emergency, and this Ordinance shall take effect on and after its passage and publicatior and it is so ordered.
