AN ORDINANCE LEVYING, ASSESSING AND FIXING THE TAX RATE FOR THE USE

COLLECTION OF ALL ANNUAL OCCUPATION TAXES PROVIDED BY STATE LAW,
T&�AS: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF 11Dr WEN OF THE CITY OF 14ICHITA FALLS,
SECTION 1. That there is hereby levied and there shall be assessed
and collected for the use and support of the municipal government of the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas, and to provide Interest and Sinking Fund for the
fiscal year nineteen hundred forty seven and nineteen hundred forty eight, upon
all property, real, personal and mixed, within the corporate limits of said
City subject to taxation, a tax of One Dollar and Forty Cents
One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation of property, said4ttaxobeingh
so levied and a)oortioned to the specific purposes herein set forth:
(a) For the maintenance and support of the general govern-
ment including current expenses and for general improve-
ments of said City and its property, known as the General
Fund, sixty cents (60,_�) on each One Hundred Dollars
(0100.00) assessed valuation of all taxable property,
and
(b) For the purpose of laying out, opening, constructing,
repairing and improving the roads, bridges, and streets
within the limits of said City, known as the Street
Fund, fifteen cents (15¢) on each One Hundred Dollars
( 100.00) assessed valuation of all taxable property,
and
(c) For current expenses in maintaining, improving and
beautifying public parks and cemeteries and maintain-
ing, improving public playgrounds, known as the Park
Fund, twelve cents (120) on each One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) assessed valuation of all taxable property,
and
(d) For current expenses for the purpose of establishing,
providing, maintaining and operating a public library,
or libraries within said City, known as the Library
Fund, three cents (M on each One Hundred Dollars
($p100,00) assessed valuation of all taxable property,
and
(e) For the purpose of paying interest and principal for
the redemption of bonds therefor legally issued by
the said City, known as the Interest and Sinking Fund,fifty cents (500) on each One Hundred Dollars
( 100.00) assessed valuation of all taxable property.
SECTION 2, There is hereby levied and there shall be collected from
every person, firm, association or corporation pursuing any occupati
the General Laws of the State of Texas on t eyed by

instance to one-half of the State Occupation tax, which said taxes shall be
paid annually in advance except where otherwise provided by the State Laws,
in vrhich event the same may be paid as is provided by the State Law,
SECTION 3. All monies collected under this ordinance for the
specific items herein named, be and the same are hereby appropriated and
set apart for the specific purpose indicated in each item, and that the
Assessor and Collector of Taxes, the City Treasurer and the City Clerk shall
keep these accounts so as to readily and distinctly show the amount collected,
the amounts expended and the amount on hand at any time, belonging to such
funds, it is hereby made the duty of the Tax Assessor and Collector of Taxes and
every person collecting money for the City of Wiciuta Falls, Texas, to deliver
to the City Treasurer and the City Clerk at the time of depositing any monies
a statement showing to what fund such deposit should be made and from what
source received. All receipts for the City not specifically apportioned by
this ordinance or any other existing ordinance are hereby made payable to the
General Fund of the City.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
