Ord 1458 3/8/1948 ORDINANCE NO. 1458 AN ORDINANCE AI DING ORDINANCE NO. 1441, PASSED AND APPROVED THE TWENTY-FIFTH DAY OF SEPTrM1BER2 A. D., 1947, FIXING THE RENTALS OF THE MICIPAL AUDITORIUM FCR SHOCK'S BY ADDING SECTION 3-A THAT WHEREAS., it has been decided by the Board of Aldermen that all lessees of the 1,uni.cipal Auditorium bringing road shows to Wichita Falls, Texas, where such lessee contracts and pays cash in advance for six or more shows during the cityls fiscal yeas, beginning October 1st, 1947 and ending September 30th, 1948, and any subsequent fiscal years of said city, should be entitled to a special rate for the use of the Municipal Audi- torium for such shows, provided a lease of the Municipal Auditorium for six or more shows is made on or before October loth of any fiscal year. NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas. Section 1, That Ordinance No. 1.441, passed and approved the 25th day of September, A.D. 1947, be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto Section 3-A2 which shall read as follows: Section 3-A. That all Lessees who shall hereafter lease the Munici- pal Auditorium for the purpose of bringing road shows to Wichita Falls, Texas for six or more times during the Cityis fiscal all beginning fiscal October 1, 1947 and ending September 30th, 1948, subsequent years, shall be given a special rate of $1.00.00 per show for all road shows brought to the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, providing a lease is executed and paid for in advance for said auditorium ctober lst for six r more lore and shows during October of the City s fiscal year beginning , ending September 30th, 1948, or any fiscal year thereafter. Section 2. The fact that various people and organizations are de- siring to lease the auditorium immediately for the purpose of furnishing entertainment to the citizens of Wichita Falls, Texas and the rate heretofore charged for the said auditorium has been changed by this ordi- nance and no contracts can be made until the effective date of this ordi- nance creates an emergency and it is hereby declared that this ordinance is an emergency measure on the ground of urgent public need and necessity and the rule requiring the reading of ordinances on three seperate days is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
