D. 1941, BY ADDING A PARAGRAPH TO SECTION 15-109.5 OF SAID
CODIFICATION PROVIDING FOR THE NUMBER OF OPENINGS PER CIRCUIT
IN GE14ERAL ILLUMINATION BY MEANS OF FLORESCENT LIGHTING
FIXTURES EXCLUSIVELY OF' CERTAIN PLACES THEREIN SPECIFIED-
AIEIv'DING SECTION 15-1011 OF SAID CODIFICATION BY PRESCRIBING
THE IvLTHOD AMID iJANNER OF INSTALLING ELECTRIC RANGES AND HEATING
DEVICES; AMENDING SECTION 15-1012 OF' SAID CODIFICATION BY
PRESCRIBING THE METHOD FOR MAKING JOINTS REQUIRED IN ATTACHING
LIGHTING FIXTURES AND CEILING FANS TO CIRCUITS; PROVIDING A
SAVING CLAUSE; REPEALING CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE: CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS :
6ECTION 1: That Section 109.5 of Title 150 Chapter 1,
(Electrical Code) of the Codification of Ordinances of the City
of Wichita Falls, passed and approved by the Board of Aldermen
of the City of Wichita Falls on the 6th day of January, A. D.
1941, be, and is hereby, amended so as to hereafter read as follows :
SECTION 15-109.5 : All current consuming openings installed
on main ceiling of store buildings for general illumination shall
be made of 660 watts capacity and in no case will more than two
such openings be permitted on one circuit of No. 14 wire. For
ceiling fan outlets six only will be permitted on one circuit
No. 14 wire. And circuits and outlets must be tagged so as to
identify them.

openings per circuit may be increased 100 percent over the limit
stated above, provided that the load does not exceed 1320 watts
per circuit of No. 14 wire. In the event that larger sized wire
is used in these circuits, the number of openings per circuit
may be increased in the ratio of the amperage capacity of the
larger wire to that of No. 14 wire.
SECTION 2: That Section loll of Title 15, Chapter 11 (Elec-
trical Code) of the Codification of Ordinances of the City of
Wichita Falls, passed and approved by the Board of Aldermen of
the City of Wichita Falls on the 6th day of January, 1941, be,
and is hereby, amended so as to hereafter read as follows :

from the switch box to an approved attachment outlet, except
that in making the installation not more than 18 inches of
Greenfield Flexible Cable may be used. In buildings previously
completed for which the wiring heretofore has been inspected,
approved armored range cable may be used from the switch box
to the attachment outlet, provided that all

SECTION 3 : That section 1012 of Title 151 Chapter 1,
(Electrical Code) of the Codification of Ordinances of the
City of Wichita Falls, passed and approved by the Board of
Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls on the 6th day of January,
A. D. 1941, be, and is hereby, amended so as to hereafter read
as follows :
SECTION 15-1012 : FIXTURES. All joints required in attaching
lighting fixtures and ceiling fans to circuits may be made with
approved solderless fixtures connectors.
SECTION 4: In case any section, sentence or paragraph
or part of this. ordinance shall for any reason be adjudged by
any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such in-
validity shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder
of this ordinance.
SECTION 5 : All ordinances, or parts of ordinances, in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed insofar as the same are
in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance only,
SECTION g: The fact that this ordinance regulates the kind
and character of installations for electrical equipment, and that
delay in the passage thereof may create hazards and jeopardize
the right of property owners in the City of Wichita Falls, creates
an emergency and imparative public necessity, and this ordinance
is hereby declared an emergency measure on the grounds of the
urgent public need for the preservation of property rights and
safety of the citizenship, and the rule requiring the reading
of ordinances on three several days is hereby suspended, and
this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, approval,
and publication as provided by law.
