AN ORDINAidCE ATVENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1337, PASSED AND APPROVED
TiE 20TH DAY OF APRIL, 1942, PRESCRIBING FARES TO BE CHARGED FOR
TRANSPORTIi'Z PASSENGERS ON BUSES, ABOLISHING THE USE OF TOKENS
FOR BUS FARE AND PROVIDING FOR THi� RIGHT OF TRANSFER
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDER EN OF T -ir, CITY OF
Y4ICti1TA FALLS, TEXAS :
SECTION 1: Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1337, passed and
approved on the 20th day of April, 1942, is hereby repealed, and
in lieu thereof the following is substituted so that Section "6"
of Ordinance No. 1337 shall hereafter read as follows :
"The Wichita Transit Corporation and its assigns are
authorized to charge a cash fare of ten ( 10) cents per adult
person for transporting or carrying such person on its motor
buses.
"Children five years of ae or less, when attended by
a paying passenger shall be carried free. Children between
the ages of five and twelve years of age shall be carried
for five ( 5) cents.
"Students in active attendance upon any elementary
grade or high school, public or private, situated within
the City limits of Wichita Falls, shall be carried for
five ( 5) cents .
"The rates of fares provided for herein are for only
one continuous ride over the present or future bus lines
of the Wichita Transit Corporation or its assigns, provided,
however, that transfers shall be issued free of charge to any
fare paying passenger desiring to embark on another bus
other than one returning to such passenger 's original point
of embarkation."
SECTION 2 : All other parts of Ordinance No. 1337 except as
herein modified shall remain in full force and effect.
ECTION 3 : Nothing herein stated shall alter or affect the
right of the City of Wichita Falls to make such changes or regulations
which it shall deem proper with reference to such bus fares.
SECTION 4: All Ordinances or parts thereof which are in con-
flict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5 ; This Ordinance has been printed in full, a public
written report containing recommendation thereon has been made by
the City Manager to the Board of Aldermen, adequate public hearings
have been held hereon, and at least two weeks have expired after
its official publications in final form before its adoption by
the Board of Aldermen.
