THE P?ESENT TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY_ OF WIChITA FALLS,
TEXAS, THE'. SAME LYING IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION FROM `1'Hc; PRESENT
CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, ALL OF WHICH
LAivDS ARC; . FULLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS OhDINAivCE AND
DECiARI1vG A14 E12LRGENCY.
WHEREAS, on the `8 day of Yl rch:i, 19 49, a majority of
the residents of the hereinafter described territory qualified
to vote for members of the Legislature of the State of Texas
under the provisions of Section 4 of the Charter of the City
of Wichita Falls , Texas , adopted March 30, 19200 and amendments
thereto, filed their petition in writing praying that the herein-
after described tract and parcel of land, be annexed to and
included within the corporate limits of the City of Vaichita Falls ,
Wichita County, Texas , and showing facts authorizing the annexing,
of said territory to said City and the inclusion thereof within
the corporate limits of said City, and,
WHEREAS, said petition was duly heard at the regularril
meeting of the Board of Aldermen on the l� day of F ,
A. D. 1949, at which time said petition was set down 'or public
hearing before said Board. of Aldermen at the regular meeting
of said Board on the 9t� day of i�iay , A• D•
1949 , at which time saiT public hearing was duly held and no
adverse interest appearing, the admission of said territory was
approved and an ordinance drawn to include the hereinafter des-
cribed territory within the City limits of said City.
NOW, ` IMhEFORL, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF' THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS :
SECTION 1: The following, described property, tract, and
parcel of land situated in Wichita County, Texas , and adjoining
the City of Wichita Falls , Wichita County, Texas, be, and the
same is hereby now ordered to be annexed to and to be included
within the said City of' 'i4ichita Falls, Texas , and that the
corporate limits of said City be extended to include said terri-
tory, more particularly described as follows , to-wit :
Beginning at a point in the !'outh boundary line of
the City limits of the City of °lichita Falls , Texas ,
at a point in the North property line of Avenue X,
236.4 feet 'Nest of the West property line of Glenwood
Street ;
Thence South 751.1 feet to a corner ;
Thence North 89 deg. and 57' West 650.3 feet to a
corner;
Thence North no degrees and 8' Fast 837 feet to an
intersection with the T..orth property line of Avenue
X;
Thence Easterly along the North property line of
Avenue X to the place of beginning;
Said property being and containing all of lots 4 through
14 inclusive, of Block 1; all of lots 1 through 23
inclusive of Block 2; and all of 1-Jots ! through 12
of Block 3; of the College heights Addition, a subdivision
of Highland and Kemp and Dell Additions to the City
of Wichita Falls, Texas, together with all the streets ,
alleys, and rights of way located therein.
SECTION 2 : The fact that there now exists an urgent public
need for the preservation of peace, health, and safety of residents
of the above described property constitutes an emergency.
Therefore, the rules requiring ordinances to be read on three
several days are hereby suspended and an emergency declared and
this ordinance shall take effect from the date of its approval.

Texas, and submit the same to the Council for further consideration.
