Ord 1492 05/23/1949ORDINANCE NO. r %' AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1350, PASSED AND APPROVED ON SEPTEMBER 8, A.D. 1942s BEING AN ORDINANCE FIXING FARES TO BE CHARGED FOR TRANSPORTING PASSENGERS WITHIN TIIC CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, BY PERSON$,TRUSTEES, FIRMS, ASSO- CIATIONS AMID CORPORATIONS ENGAGED IN T E BUSINESS CP iRA!-TSPORTING PASSENGERS FOR HIRE ON AND OVER DESIGNATED ROUTES WITHIN SAID CITY AND ITS SUBURBS ATM TO USE TIC STMETS, ALLEYS AND PUBLIC WAYS OF T'-F. CITY FOR SUCH PURPOSE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT M aE WITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY TIC BOARD OF ALDE RIVC- N OF THE CITY OF ItFICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1350 adopted September 8, A.D. 1942, be, and the same is, bereby amended so as to hereafter read as follows, to -wit:. SECTION 2. The operators transporting passengers are authorized at all times to charge a cash Fare of ten cents per adult person for transporting or carrying such passenger during - all regular operating hours on its busses, operated within the corporate city limits of t:� city, provided that eleven (ll) tokens shall be sold for $1.00 to all persons who shall apply for and make use of same under the conditions that such tickets or tokens shall be kept for sale by all motormen and conductors on such busses, and at such other places in the City of 'Nichita Falls as may be designated by the Wichita City Lines, Inc., its successors or assignees. The rates of fares provided for herein are for only one c ont inuous ride in one direction over any of the present or future bus lines of the said corporation within the corporate limits of the city as of April 29, 1949. The said corporation shall not be required to furnish any round trip passage over any line or lines for a single fare or to carry any passenger by transfer from any point on its lines to another point in the same vicinity for a single fare. The operators may, subject to the approval of the Board of Aldermen, make such reasonable regulations not incon- sistent herewith or with other ordinances related to such matters as may be necessary to prevent the misuse and abuse of transfers. The operators transporting paying passengers shall give free trans- fers governed under provisions now fixed or hereafter to be fixed by general ordinance. The operators transporting passengers are authorized at all times to charge a cash fare of five cents per child between the ages of five to twelve years for transporting or carrying such passengers during all regular bus operating hours on its busses operated within the corporate city limits of the city, provided that twenty four (24) tokens or tickets shall be sold for $1.00, which tokens or tickets shall be accepted by the bus operator in lieu of such cash fare and the same shall be kept for sale by all drivers and operators on said busses, and at other places as shall be designated by the corporation. The corporation is authorized at all times to charge a cash fare of five cents per person between the ages of 12 and 17 years who are in actual attendance of any elementary school, high school, or any school or schools offering similar educational fa- cilities that are situated within the corporate city limits of the city for transporting or carrying such passengers on regular school days of any given week, Monday through Friday, inclusive, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. providing that twenty four (24) tokens shall be sold for $1.00, which tokens or tickets shall be accepted by the bus operator in lieu of such cash fare and the same shall be kept for sale by all drivers and operators on said busses, and at other places as shall be designated by the corporation. Children five years of age or less when attended by a fare paying passenger above said age shall at all times be carried free, providing they do not occupy seats to the exclusion of fare paying passengers. All paying passengers shall be entitled to request and make use of free transfers under the conditions set forth governing such transfers. The corporation shall give no passes or free service to any person, except to those engaged in the maintainance and operation of its business. All ordinances and part of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. PASSED AND Ai'PROVED this the�;19 day of�01 A.D. 1949.
