Ord 1502 11/14/1949v AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND FIXING FIRE LANES ON THE EAST SIDE OF HOLLIDAY STREET BEGINNING AT THE NORTH LINE OF LOT #25, BLOCK #15, SIBLEY TAYLOR ADDITION TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING ALONG SAID EAST SIDE OF HOLLIDAY STREET IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION A DISTANCE OF 300 FEET AND ON THE NORTH SIDE OF KEELER STREET BEGINNING AT HOLLIDAY STREET AND EXTENDING ALONG THE NORTH SIDE OF SAID KEELER STREET IN A WEST- ERLY DIRECTION A DISTANCE OF 300 FEET; PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF ANY AND ALL VEHICLES IN SUCH FIRE LANE: PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT there is hereby created a fire lane along the East side of Holliday Street beginning at the North line of lot #25 in block #15, Sibley -Taylor Addition to the city of Wichita Falls, Texas, and extending in a Southerly direction along the East side of said Holl- iday Street a distance of 300 feet. SECTION 2. That there is hereby created a fire lane along the North side of Keeler Street beginning at Holliday Street and extending in a Westerly direction along the North side of said Keeler Street a distance of 300 feet. SECTION 3. That it shall hereafter be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to park a vehicle of any kind or description on those portions, or any part thereof, of the above created fire lanes and upon conviction of such violation such person, firm or corporation shall be fined any sum of money not more than $¢200.00 nor less than $5.00. The fact that parking at certain times in the above set out zones creates a fire hazard for the property owners in that area and the fact that such streets are narrow to such an extent that it would be practically impossible for a fire truck to go between vehicles parked on both sides of the streets above described creates an emergency and the rule requiring the reading of an ordinance on three (3) separate days is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall become effective upon its passage, approval and publication as required by law. One lane to be on the East side of Holliday Street beginning at 2203 and extending 300 feet Soath on the East side of Holliday. The other lane on Keeler Street beginning at the corner of the South Side Baptist Church on the North side and extending 300 feet. Your consideration of this request will be appreciated.
