DECLARING AN EMERGENCY:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT there is hereby created a fire lane along the
East side of Holliday Street beginning at the North line of lot #25 in
block #15, Sibley -Taylor Addition to the city of Wichita Falls, Texas,
and extending in a Southerly direction along the East side of said Holl-
iday Street a distance of 300 feet.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby created a fire lane along the
North side of Keeler Street beginning at Holliday Street and extending in
a Westerly direction along the North side of said Keeler Street a distance
of 300 feet.
SECTION 3. That it shall hereafter be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to park a vehicle of any kind or description on those
portions, or any part thereof, of the above created fire lanes and upon
conviction of such violation such person, firm or corporation shall be
fined any sum of money not more than $¢200.00 nor less than $5.00.
The fact that parking at certain times in the above set out
zones creates a fire hazard for the property owners in that area and
the fact that such streets are narrow to such an extent that it would
be practically impossible for a fire truck to go between vehicles parked
on both sides of the streets above described creates an emergency and the
rule requiring the reading of an ordinance on three (3) separate days is
hereby suspended and this ordinance shall become effective upon its passage,
approval and publication as required by law.
Passed and approved this day of , 1949.
