ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, WAIVING SECTION 82 -67 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO PERMIT OVERNIGHT CAMPING BY THE WICHITA
FALLS KIWANIS CLUB FOR THE NORTHWEST TEXAS COUNCIL 587
OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA AND RESERVATION OF A
PORTION OF SOUTH WEEKS PARK APRIL 25 -26, 2003; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Kiwanis Club wishes to sponsor an overnight
camping event by the Northwest Texas Council 587 of the Boy Scouts of America in
south Weeks Park by the fishing pond and reservation of such area; and
WHEREAS, the activity will be sufficiently supervised, litter removed, and caution
used when using tent stakes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Sec. 82 -67 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived to permit
overnight camping in south Weeks Park by the fishing pond by the Wichita Falls
Kiwanis Club for the Northwest Texas Council 587 of the Boy Scouts of America and
reservation of the area April 25 -26, 2003.
SECTION 2.. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
