ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE
APPLICATION FOR THE FY2003 LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK
GRANT PROGRAM; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is eligible for a Department of Justice,
Bureau of Justice Assistance Local Law Enforcement Block Grant ( LLEBG) where the
funding level will be announced at a later date; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to use the Police Department's forfeiture fund for
the required 10% local match; and
WHEREAS, at a later date, an advisory committee made up of members of the
community, as required by LLEBG policies, will make recommendations as to the use of
the grant proceeds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to make application for the
FY2003 Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance Local Law Enforcement
Block Grant funds
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
