I. Call to Order and Introductions
Stephen Garner called the meeting to order. Members, staff and guests introduced
themselves.
II. Approval of Minutes
Larry Scott moved that the minutes of the July 14 meeting be approved. Daniel
Fitzwater seconded. The motion passed.
III. Project Status
Steve Garner asked Davis Powell if we can finalize an agreement with Corolla by month
end. Mr. Powell indicated that would depend upon Corolla. If they agree to the final draft
then it will go to City Council for approval. Steve Garner stated he would like some sort
of public event at Lake Wichita or the boat ramp once the statement of work is back and
approved by City Council, in order to launch the next phase of the project.
Steve Garner is setting up an October meeting between the City Council and members
of the committee to discuss the game plan moving forward. The intent is to discuss

Communications —he is taking cuts out of the 6- minute video in 30 second increments
for radio and TV spots.
Ford Swanson stated he has come credits for advertising from Town Square Media he
will donate. They will match some time — probably over the night hours.
Ford Swanson indicated customers were looking at the promotional materials on the
tables in his restaurant, but weren't asking questions about the project.
Tom Lang reported that we are signed up for a booth at the Hotter `n Hell Expo 27 – 29
August. We will need volunteers to man the booth and answer questions. Our booth will
be in the lobby of the Event Center.
The mall kiosk is designed and should be ready by Friday. It will run our video.
Dr. Martinez at Midwestern State University needs one piece of information and we
should get the economic impact right after that.
Tom Lang will be presenting about the Lake Wichita project at some national fisheries
conferences and at the state inland fisheries conference.
Tom Lang indicated he had been approached about some issues with the route of the
proposed paddling trail. He has a suggestion to discuss with Engineering to alleviate
concerns from the public.
Jack Murphy asked about the possibility of an island in the lake. Tom Lang responded
that it would likely be an issue of water quality, but could be looked at.
