RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, TO ENDORSE AN APPLICATION TO THE WICHITA
FALLS SALES TAX BOARD FOR CONSULTING SERVICES FOR
PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, on January 18, 1997, voters approved the imposition of an additional
cent local sales tax to undertake various projects including a police and fire
communications system; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to pursue the necessary preparations for
development of a comprehensive and integrated solution for a public safety
communications system, and
WHEREAS, a Committee of the City Council has determined that consulting
services are needed to assist with these communication projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby endorses an application to the Wichita
Falls Sales Tax Board for consulting services for public safety communication systems.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to request sufficient funds
to obtain professional consulting services for the projects.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
