(o D 00.)j RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, TO ENDORSE AN APPLICATION TO THE WICHITA FALLS SALES TAX BOARD FOR PARKS TRAIL EXTENSION AND SIKES LAKE EXCAVATION WORK; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, the City Council desires to pursue the necessary funding for extending the park trail system and for excavation work on Sikes Lake, and WHEREAS, it is estimated that the trail extension to connect existing trails that end below Lake Wichita Dam and at FM2380 will cost $285,000, and WHEREAS, it is estimated that the excavation and hauling work on Sikes Lake for the area located on City Property in Wood Park will cost $90,000, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to request funds for these projects from the Wichita Falls Sales Tax Board. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby endorses an application to the Wichita Falls Sales Tax Board for funding the parks trail extension and Sikes Lake excavation work. SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to request sufficient funds for these projects. SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this the 151h day of January, 2002.
