RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, EXPRESSING THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS'
SUPPORT FOR THE EXPANSION OF LOOP 11 FROM U.S. 287 TO
INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 44; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is experiencing growth in population; and
WHEREAS, the City is also experiencing a increase in development in the area
from north of U.S. 287 to east of Interstate Highway 44; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is concerned with the safety of its motorists
and its citizens moving from Loop 11 and U.S. 287 to Sheppard Air Force Base to the
northeast; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is developing a plan for the future growth of
the city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Wichita Falls hereby requests the
Texas Department of Transportation Commission to expedite the construction of the
expansion of Loop 11 from U.S. 287 to Interstate Highway 44.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
