RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION WAIVER FOR THE
JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILITY INCENTIVE BLOCK GRANT AND
DESIGNATING WICHITA COUNTY AS THE RECIPIENT OF THE
ALLOCATED AMOUNT OF $43,923; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls received notice of its qualification to receive
$43,923 in federal funds from the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls desires that these funds
be used locally; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners Court of Wichita County proposes to submit an
application that would benefit the administration and efficacy of the Juvenile Probation
Office, contingent upon the City waiving its right to apply, and requesting the State to
assign its share to the County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls hereby waives its right to apply for the
2002 Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant funds, and authorizes the City
Manager to execute said application waiver.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls requests that Wichita County receive the
funds waived by the City, to be used towards a project application by the County for
juvenile prosecutor and secretary.
SECTION 3. The City of Wichita Falls agrees to participate in the Juvenile Crime
Enforcement Coalition. Representatives to the Coalition shall include the Chief of
Police.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
