RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
PUBLIC SAFETY FOR A FAILURE TO APPEAR PROGRAM; FINDING
AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, Chapter 706 of the Texas Transportation Code authorizes interlocal
agreements between political subdivisions and the Texas Department of Public Safety
for the administration of a Failure to Appear Program; and
WHEREAS, such program offers assistance to local municipalities by denying
the renewal of a driver's license for individuals failing to appear in Municipal Court.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the attached
interlocal agreement with the Texas Department of Public Safety for the administration
of a Failure to Appear Program.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
