RESULTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR
$39,200.00 IN GRANT FUNDS FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AGENCY /UNITED STATES FIRE ADMINISTRATION -
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTER GRANT PROGRAM TOWARD THE
PURCHASE OF SELF - CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, The Wichita Falls Fire Department has 68 Self- Contained Breathing
Apparatus units and;
and;
WHEREAS, 51 of the Self- Contained Breathing Apparatus are 10 years or older,
WHEREAS, the cost of repairing those older units is increasing annually, and;
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Fire Department has a need to replace 20 Self -
Contained Breathing Apparatus
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to apply for grant funding
from the Federal Emergency Management Agency /United States Fire Administration
Assistance to Firefighter Grants Program for the purchase of new Self- Contained
Breathing Apparatus
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
