Res 041-2002 4/16/2002RESOLUTION NO. Uk- OOci, RESOLUTION DECLARING THE VACATED FIRE STATIONS LOCATED AT 1701 MIDWESTERN PARKWAY, BLOCK 10, ABSTRACT 305, J.A. SCOTT SURVEY NO. NINE (9) AND 2515 FILLMORE, LOTS 9, 10, 11 AND 12, BLOCK 16A, HIGHLAND ADDITION, WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS, AS EXCESS PROPERTY; DIRECTING THE PROPERTIES TO BE SOLD BY SEALED BID; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE THE SALE OF THESE PROPERTIES AND TO EXECUTE DEEDS TO CONVEY TITLE; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, the City Council has indicated a desire to reduce the inventory of real property that is not being used and to also reduce the cost of maintenance; and, WHEREAS, the two vacated fire stations located at 1701 Midwestern Parkway, Block 10, Abstract 305, J.A. Scott Survey, and 2515 Fillmore, Lots 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block 16A, Highland Addition, have been identified as excess; and, WHEREAS, numerous requests and inquiries have been made regarding the purchase of said properties; and WHEREAS, the sale of said property would be in the City's best interest in the promotion of area development. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. That certain real property, identified as 1701 Midwestern Parkway, Block 10, Abstract 305, J.A. Scott Survey, and 2515 Fillmore, Lots 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block 16A, Highland Addition, is declared as excess, and the Property Administrator is directed to advertise these properties for sale by sealed bid. SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
