Res 134-2002 12/17/2002RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION TO AWARD BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWENTY (20) POLICE PATROL VEHICLES TO WICHITA FALLS FORD MOTOR COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $412,685.40; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for the purchase of twenty (20) police patrol vehicles; and WHEREAS, it was found that the bid by Wichita Falls Ford Motor Company offers the City the best combination of price and additional economic development opportunities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Said bid price from Wichita Falls Ford Motor Company in the amount of $412,685.40 is hereby accepted, and the City Manager is authorized to execute a contract for the City with said Vendor for the purchase of twenty police patrol vehicles. SECTION 2. The City Council finds the bid of Wichita Falls Ford Motor Company offers the City of Wichita Falls the best combination of contract price and additional economic development opportunities for the City, including the employment of City residents and increased tax revenues to the City of Wichita Falls. SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
