ORDINANCE MAKING AN APPROPRIATION IN THE HOTEL /MOTEL
FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,000 FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF THE
2001 WELCOMING RECEPTION FOR THE NATO AIR FORCE CHIEFS
AT SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT
THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS ORDINANCE WAS PASSED WAS
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City has received a request from the Squadron Adoption
Program for funding in the amount of $7,000 to assist with the cost of a welcoming
reception for the NATO Chiefs during their visit to Sheppard Air Force Base; and
WHEREAS, the City has supported this event in the past with appropriations of
similar amounts from the Hotel /Motel Fund;
WHEREAS, the NATO Flying Training Program has a significant positive
economic and social impact on the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated to the 2000 -01 Hotel /Motel Fund
Budget the amount of $7,000 to assist with the costs of the 2001 Welcoming Reception
for the NATO Chiefs of Staff during their visit to Sheppard Air Force Base.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this ordinance was passed was open to the public as required by law.
