RESOLUTION APPOINTING HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, INC. AS AN ELIGIBLE COMMUNITY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
ORGANIZATION (CHDO) UNDER THE HOME INVESTMENT
PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT
FINDING AND DETERMING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity of Wichita Falls, Inc. has met the federal
regulatory criteria to be eligible for appointment as a Community Housing and
Development Organization (CHDO); and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls, acting as a Participating Jurisdiction under
the HOME Investment Partnership Program, is required to allocate 15% of each year's
funding authorizations to an eligible CHDO; and
WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity of Wichita Falls, Inc. has applied for
designation as a CHDO for the City of Wichita Falls and has submitted plans for using
the CHDO set -aside funds in an affordable housing project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council designates Habitat for Humanity of Wichita Falls,
Inc. to act as a Community Housing Development Organization eligible to receive
funding under the HOME Investment Partnership Program funding allocation set - aside.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute a contract with Habitat
for Humanity of Wichita Falls, Inc. acting as a Community Housing Development
Organization and awards $103,549.09 from Fiscal Years 1992 and 1993 HOME
Investment Partnership Program set -aside balances.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
