Res 159-2000 12/5/2000RESOLUTION NO. ��G - ©©D A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS WITH THE TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION, CHILD CARE, INC. AND THE YMCA TO PROVIDE MATCHING FUNDS FOR CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls agrees to act as a "pass through" agency to leverage additional federal dollars for affordable child care; and WHEREAS, Child Care, Inc. and the YMCA agree to each furnish $25,861 in matching funds; and WHEREAS, the Texas Workforce Commission agrees to use the local match of $51,722 to leverage an additional $79,452 in federal Child Care Development Funds; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Wichita Falls City Council to be in the public interest to provide a mechanism for securing additional funds for child care for income eligible parents in Wichita Falls. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts /agreements with Texas Workforce Commission, Child Care, Inc., and the YMCA. SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law. PASSED AND APPROVED this the 5th day of December 2000.
