RESOLUTION TO ENDORSE AN APPLICATION TO THE WICHITA
FALLS SALES TAX BOARD FOR PROJECT APPROVAL OF A PUBLIC
SAFETY TRAINING CENTER AND RELATED FACILITIES; FINDING
AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, on January 18, 1997, voters approved the imposition of an
additional' /4 cent local sales tax to undertake various projects including a police and fire
training center; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to pursue the necessary preparations for
this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby endorses an application to the Wichita
Falls Sales Tax Board for project approval of a public safety training center and related
facilities.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to request sufficient funds
in an amount not to exceed $75,000 to obtain professional consulting and design
services for preliminary project design of the police and fire training center and police
firing range.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
