RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION
ADMINISTRATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PURCHASING KICKAPOO
AIRPARK; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls conducted a study to determine the
feasibility of purchasing Kickapoo Airpark; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the Airpark would be accomplished with Federal
Aviation Administration and excess City Airport funds; and
WHEREAS, neither Federal income tax dollars nor City property tax dollars
would be utilized to complete the purchase; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to purchase Kickapoo Airpark.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to submit a grant
application to the Federal Aviation Administration for the purpose of purchasing
Kickapoo Airpark.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
