RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT FOR PRELIMINARY DESIGN CONSULTATION SERVICES
WITH MCCLAREN, WILSON & LAWRIE, INC. FOR A PUBLIC SAFETY
TRAINING CENTER AND FIRING RANGE; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, on January 18, 1997, the voters approved the adoption of an
additional % cent Section 4B sales tax to undertake various projects as authorized by
law; and
WHEREAS, one of the projects specifically listed on the ballot was a police and
fire training center; and
WHEREAS, on Monday, January 31, 2000, the Wichita Falls (413) Sales Tax
Corporation Board of Directors conducted a public hearing to consider a request for
funds in the amount of $75,000 to begin preliminary design consultation services; and
WHEREAS, the Board recommends to the City Council that this project be
approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract for
preliminary design consultation services with McClaren, Wilson & Lawrie, Inc. for a
public safety training center and firing range.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
