RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, REQUESTING THE MPEC BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO
REQUEST BIDS FOR THE MULTI - PURPOSE EVENTS CENTER
COLISEUM; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, on November 17, 1992, the Wichita Falls City Council, by adoption
of Resolution 174 -92, approved contracts with the MPEC Coliseum Joint Venture,
MPEC Site Joint Venture, and the MPEC Coordinating Architect for certain work related
to the construction of a new coliseum; and,
WHEREAS, on July 20,1999, by adoption of Resolution 81 -99 the Wichita Falls
City Council instructed the City Manager to begin the process of developing possible
funding scenarios to accomplish the construction of the Coliseum; and,
WHEREAS, on August 17,1999, by adoption of Resolution 97 -99 the Wichita
Falls City Council expressed their desire that the contracts with the architects be
continued; progress made toward the construction of a coliseum, and restart the
process of obtaining the final design and specifications for the Coliseum at MPEC; and,
WHEREAS, the architects have completed the review of the final design and
specifications and it is the desire of the City Council to determine the cost of the
Coliseum project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The MPEC Board of Trustees is hereby requested to request bids
for the Multi- Purpose Events Center Coliseum.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
