RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A
GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. FEDERAL AVIATION
ADMINISTRATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,322,416 FOR THE
ACQUISITION OF KICKAPOO DOWNTOWN AIRPARK AND RELATED
STUDIES; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT
WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE
PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls conducted a study to determine the
feasibility of purchasing Kickapoo Airpark; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the Airpark will be accomplished with Federal
Aviation Administration and excess City airport funds; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to purchase Kickapoo Airpark.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a grant
agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration for the purpose of purchasing
Kickapoo Air Park and conducting associated studies required by the FAA.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
