RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE SOLICITATION OF BIDS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF PUMPING FACILITIES TO DIVERT LAKE KEMP
WATER TO THE SECONDARY RESERVOIR; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Drought Contingency Plan of the City of Wichita Falls calls for
the blending of Lake Kemp water with the waters of Lake Kickapoo and Lake
Arrowhead; and
WHEREAS, the blending of these waters will take place at the Secondary
Reservoir located in Wichita Falls; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to construct pumping facilities along the Kingston -
Jamaica drainage channel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager and the Public Works Department be given
permission to solicit bids for the construction of said pumping facilities.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
