RESOLUTION DIRECTING A 1.47 ACRE TRACT OF LAND OUT OF
THE J.A. SCOTT SURVEY, WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS, KNOWN AS
WEEKS PARK, BE SOLD BY SEALED BID; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, a special election was held in the City on May 6, 2000 for the
purpose of placing on the ballot the proposition authorizing the City to sell at fair market
value a portion of surplus property in Weeks Park, said property being located in the
J.A. Scott Survey A -294, an addition to the City of Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas;
and,
WHEREAS, said proposition passed; and,
WHEREAS, a request has been submitted to purchase said property; and
WHEREAS, the sale of said property would be in the City's best interest in the
promotion of area development.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to advertise the above
referenced tract for sale by sealed bids.
SECTION 2. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids as it sees fit.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
