RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE RENOVATION PROJECT TO THE SECOND
FLOOR OF THE LIBRARY FROM SANTA ROSA CONSTRUCTION CO. AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE FINAL PAYMENT; FINDING
AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council awarded a contract in the amount of $325,448 to
Santa Rosa Construction Co. on December 21, 1999 for improvements to the Second
Floor of the Wichita Falls Public Library for recreation activities; and
WHEREAS, the contract amount included $25,000 in contingency; and
WHEREAS, Santa Rosa Construction Co. has completed all phases and change
orders of the renovation project at a cost of $325,250, of which $321,997.50 has
previously been paid to the contractor leaving a balance due of $3,252.50; and
WHEREAS, the project has been completed to the satisfaction of the architect
and project manager Bundy, Young, Sims, & Potter, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The renovation project to the second floor of the Library is hereby
accepted from the contractor Santa Rosa Construction Co. and the City Manager is
hereby authorized to make final payment in the amount of $3,252.50 to said contractor.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
