RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SALE OF 1611 ORCHARD AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE SPECIAL
WARRANTY DEED; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to reduce the inventory of city -owned
property;
WHEREAS, a contract has been offered by a potential buyer that qualifies for the
Urban Homestead Program;
WHEREAS, this will give a low to moderate income family the benefit of home
ownership, and
WHEREAS, the property will be put back on the tax roll and the City will no
longer be responsible for the mowing or upkeep.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a special
warranty deed to convey title to the property located at 1611 Orchard, Lot 6, Block 7,
Sunnyside Heights, Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
