Resolution Authorizing The Purchase Of Two Handheld
Spectrometers For The Fire Department Hazardous Materials
Response Team From Ahura Scientific, Inc., In The Amount Of
$94,050.00, Through The U.S. General Services Administration
Federal Supply Contract
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Code § 271.103 provides:
Texas Local Gov't Code § 271.103. Federal Supply Schedule Sources
(a) A local government may purchase goods or services available under Federal supply schedules
of the United States General Services Administration to the extent permitted by federal law.
(b) A local government that purchases goods or services under this subchapter satisfies any state
law requiring the local government to seek competitive bids for the purchase of the goods or
services.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to purchase two handheld spectrometers
for the Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the City's best interest to purchase
these items through the U.S. General Services Administration Federal Supply Contract,
and further finds that this purchase is a procurement necessary to preserve or protect
the public health or safety of the residents of the City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase two
handheld spectrometers for the Fire Department Hazardous Materials Response Team
from Ahura Scientific, Inc., in the amount of $94,050.00, through the U.S. General
Services Administration federal supply contract.
