Ordinance Granting Or Refusing A Franchise For A Taxicab Service To
Claudio Ramirez, Jr., dba Wichita Star Taxi
WHEREAS, the City has received an application from Claudio Ramirez, Jr., dba
Wichita Star Taxi, for a taxicab franchise to operate within the city limits of Wichita Falls,
and a public hearing was held to receive comments regarding the granting of such
franchise; and,
WHEREAS, Section 110 -6(c) of the Wichita Falls City Code provides:
(c) If the City Council finds that the public convenience and necessity require the operation of the taxicab service,
and that the applicant is fit to conduct the business and that the other requirements of this article have been
complied with, it shall grant the franchise by ordinance. Once granted, the franchise shall remain in effect for a
period of five years from the date granted or such lesser time as determined by the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council finds that the public convenience and necessity requires the
operation of a taxicab service by Claudio Ramirez, Jr.; said entity is fit to conduct the
taxicab business for which said entity has applied; and said entity has complied with the
other requirements of Article II of Chapter 110 of the Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances.
Accordingly, a franchise for a taxicab service within the City of Wichita Falls is hereby
granted to Claudio Ramirez, Jr., as provided for in Chapter 110 of the Wichita Falls Code of
Ordinances. This franchise will expire on January 19, 2016.
